Homemade Whipped Body Butter

Materials

  • Butter
  • Oils
  • Glass jar or bowl
  • Container to store finished product

Ingredients

**The butter to oil ratio depends on the consistency that you want. 1 part butter and 2 part oils will give you a creamer consistency.

  • Butter: Shea, Mango or Cocoa
  • Oil: Coconut, Grapeseed or Olive
  • Optional: essential/fragrance oil of your choice this amount will vary depending on how much you make

Instructions

  1. Place butter in a glass jar or bowl.
  2. Fill a heavy bottom pot with water. Place the glass bowl or jar in/on top of the pot a of water
  3. Heat gently, stirring regularly, until butter is melted
  4. Remove from the heat
  5. Add your oils and if you choose essential/fragrance oil
  6. Place mixture in refrigerator to cool
  7. Once the mixture is solid again, but not too hard, whip it up using an electric whisk, a food processor with a whisk attachment
  8. Whip about 5 minutes, or until you have created a fluffy consistency
  9. Place in a container of your choice until ready to use
